Born in Lyon, France, Franck started studying guitar at age thirteen. As a teenager he played in a Bluegrass band and toured in France, Germany and Ireland. He also played folk guitar in the tradition of John Renbourn and Pierre Bensusan. In 1984 Franck studied with Michel Perez at the Jazz School AIMRA in Lyon. He joined Michel Perez' "Guitar Big Band" 1985.
Franck moved to Los Angeles in 1987 to study at the Guitar Institute (G.I.T.) in Hollywood and studied with Joe Diorio, Scott Henderson and Allan Hinds.
In 1988 he joined Afro-Beat pioneer Fidel Bateke's (1st Tenor Sax with Fela Kuti) group "Bateke Beat" and performed with him in California for 3 years.
Franck started his own band "SAVWA" which featured, among others, Ravi Coltrane - sax, Andre Manga - bass (Manu Dibango, Josh Groban), Carl Young - sax / bass (Spearhead), Sharlotte Gibson - vocals (Chaka Khan, American Idol background singer) ... Savwa performed widely in LA clubs for the next four years.
He has also played with many African bands including Sugumugu, Eugene de Coque, Mamadou & Bineta, and Titus Fotso.
Franck has recorded or performed with Toni Childs, Steven Brown (Tuxedo Moon), Ricardo Lemvo, Toulouse Engelhardt ....
He is now a producer and arranger for Tea Productions where he has worked with Brian Auger, Remi Kabaka (Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney), Randall Willis (B Sharp), Steve Ngondo (Tabu Ley Rochereau) and Marcel Adjibi (Manu Dibango, John Densmore) among others...
